Daniel McCracken spent time doing media sales in America before moving to Korea in 2007. He had studied Telecommunications Sales and Promotions at Ball State University. Then, after teaching in Korea, he later returned to school to complete a Master’s Degree in Education from Framingham University. He has worked in all kinds of educational environments, but with his interest in the effectiveness of content teaching a move to the Woosong Sol International School seemed like a natural fit. He enjoys helping students learn with a fun and dynamic classroom style, as well as, sharing new music and other interesting cultural differences.

Eric Warner believes that quality education is the best way to improve the world. Teaching people to think and to reason is the first step in solving the world's problems. He became an educator and has dedicated the past decade toward that end, having taught in the US, the Republic of Korea, and the Sultanate of Oman. He earned a BA and MA in English Literature and Language from Texas Tech University and has taught over 4,000 students from a variety of backgrounds, ethnicities, and ages. Eric has taught a myriad of courses including 19th and 20th century American and British Literature, Literature and Film Adaptation, Science Fiction and Fantasy Genre, Creative Writing, Composition and Rhetoric, and numerous EFL courses: Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing. Eric's interests include literature, textual history, the intersection of teaching, learning, and technology, politics, and travel.

Dr. Ines Mzali (SIGE Research Coordinator) has been teaching in South Korea since 2014. Her passion for languages and interest in language learning methods naturally led her to language instruction. As she started learning languages as a child, she has always valued the cultural diversity they reflect. Having taught a variety of students and classes in Tunisia, Canada, and Korea, she continues to see foreign language learning as a bridge betwee+G31:H32n cultures and people.
A firm believer in the power of education, she naturally made teaching her profession after earning her PhD in English Studies from the University of Montreal in Canada. Her background in literary studies honed her skill at communicating the powerful uses of language. Her teaching experience includes teaching both language and content classes. Her professional interests include teaching, doing research on language and culture, helping students grow, and designing courses that allow them to do so.

Katie DeSau has been teaching English in South Korea since 2015. She has taught English to children through adults in a variety of contexts in the U.S. and South Korea. She studied Spanish Literature in the U. S. and abroad in Granada, Spain. She completed graduate school at Portland State University in Oregon, where she earned her Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. While at Portland State, she concentrated her studies in Corpus Linguistics. Her experiences studying, working, and interacting with students from different cultures and communities broadened her understanding of the world. Katie believes in communicative student-centered classrooms where students are in charge of their own learning. She strives to create an open, supportive learning environment in the language classroom that fosters cross-cultural understanding. Katie believes in the mission of educating students to be leaders in a global, multicultural environment.

Lacey Horner (SIGE General Coordinator) is a career educator, having taught languages to a variety of age groups since 2003. She originally started in the realm of US public education, teaching secondary Spanish for nearly a decade. Following a move to Korea in 2012, she started teaching English, and eventually Spanish again after joining Woosong University in 2014. Lacey earned a Bachelor’s degree in Romance Languages from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2002 and then her Master of Arts in Foreign Language Education from Wake Forest University in 2003. Her professional interests relate to Foreign Language Anxiety, Intercultural Communication, and how these topics intersect in the language classroom. Lacey’s multicultural upbringing and love of travel has inspired her teaching style since the beginning of her career. She’s dedicated to challenging her students and supporting their growth throughout their university experience and beyond.

Laura Koonce (SIGE Academic Coordinator) has worked as a teacher and curriculum developer in English language education since 2008. In the United States she worked with diverse groups of students to help them prepare for university coursework, engage with their local community, and further their professional goals. Ryan Kozbial has lived in Korea for over a decade, teaching at universities throughout the country. When he is not teaching, he can be found exploring the country, either by car or by bike, as well, he has hiked all major mountains in the country multiple times. Ryan is also a certified ski racing coach and ski instructor in Canada.

Originally hailing from sunny Doncaster, a large market town in the north of England, Wayne Finley has lived and breathed education in Korea since 2010. With a background in English Language, English Literature, creative writing and a great passion to help all students succeed, Wayne brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and excitement to the classroom. At the heart of all his classes is the mantra: a teacher should not only engage the mind of a student, but stir the heart.
Outside the classroom Wayne can be regularly seen presenting his teaching ideas at conferences, drinking cups of hot milk tea and watching football games.

Patricia Ninniss (SIGE Special Programs Coordinator) studied Biotechnology in Canada and after a short career as a research scientist decided to pursue other avenues. Patricia came to Korea in the fall of 2005 and began her TESOL career teaching English to a variety of ages and levels. Realizing her goal was to continue in this profession, she earned her Master’s of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction specializing in ESL education from the American College of Education. Her education and experience has cultivated her into a versatile and compassionate educator sensitive to students’ unique needs. Patricia has spent the last 4 years teaching at Woosong University, and assisting with curriculum design and implementation for the General English Language Program and SIS Special Programs.
